Mapping the Book of Revelation
The majority of Christians has always approached the Book of Revelation chronologically, but that can be frustrating sometimes. Take for example the mountains and islands that disappear in chapter 6, but also in chapter 16. How can that be? Be aware that the Bible was given chapters only in about the 13th century just to make it more readable. Imagine the Book of Revelation therefore more like a book that treats the same theme, but from different angles. Like the movie Vantage Point. In the chart below, you can see themes that are causally related or talk about the same event, linked. The horizontal line of squares play roughly in the same time period. The columns roughly represent the chapters 6-19, which is the part of Revelation that is the most difficult to understand. I hope this brings some more clarity and insight in this hard-to-read book of Revelation. This in no way is presented as being the full truth. We see through a glass darkly and need each other to gain more insight, as knowledge increases everyday. Feel free to give some feedback in the form of suggestions or questions :-) God bless!
