The connection between 70 years Israel and the rapture of Enoch
Earlier, I posted an article in which I summarized 7 reasons for a possible Pentecostal rapture. Although May 19/20th 2018 is close to the 70th anniversary of the modern state of Israel, I never liked the fact that there’s 6 days of discrepancy between those dates. Because, May 19/20th is not May 14th, 2018 ; the anniversary of Israel. Until I found this interesting passage.
The Book of Jasher
In Joshua 10:13 and 2 Samuel 1:18, we find references to the Book of Jasher. It’s been mentioned by name as a source for more information concerning events from the Old Testament. Unlike the Book of Jubilees (that is never mentioned in the Bible), the timelines of Jasher agree with the Genesis account and there also seem to be no doctrinal differences. While this book is best valued ‘probably not inspired’, it can be interesting to read for historical reasons. That appeared to be an understatement, when I opened chapter 3 of the Book of Jasher. You can find that chapter here.
We read in verse 20 that Enoch had a tradition to secret himself 6 days every year. We focus on that particular detail some more later. In verse 27, we suddenly see a horse appearing in the clouds and a little further we read that Enoch is not the only one that is traveling to heaven, but a complete myriad of 800,000 people! That happened on the first day of those original 6 days that Enoch secreted himself. In verse 34 and 35, Enoch instructs his following to return. He also asked them earlier, but only a few went back. The rest refused. Even after 6 days of traveling with him. Then, finally, Enoch is being raptured.
Now, what’s interesting, is that the Jews traditionally believe Enoch is raptured on his birthday. Dr. Chuck Missler points that out in this article. It just so happens that his birthday is on the 6th of Sivan, which is the date of Pentecost! This year, Pentecost starts on the evening of May 19th and continues until the sunset of the 20th. If we then count 6 days back, we arrive at.. May 14th, 2018. Wow. That coincides exactly with the day Israel is celebrating its 70th anniversary! If this is all confusing you, check the diagram below to see how this works.
What does this mean? Maybe nothing. We can’t predict the future, nor are we allowed to (Deut. 18:10). But we can see the patterns. Enoch was being raptured before the first judgment (with water), and likewise we will be raptured before the second judgment (with fire). Remember, it will be like in the days of Noah (Matthew 24:37) in the end times. Which will happen in one generation after the budding of the fig tree, which is of course Israel (Matthew 24:31-34, Psalm 90:10). Yes, we are expecting Him. Even the more now the time is so near. Below, you can find another diagram that I made. It all seems to fit perfectly. But we can only watch how it all works out. I just pray that we will be with Jesus soon. Do you? :)
